As the realities of inequality and racism are once again laid bare, World Projects joins with our community to mourn the senseless death of George Floyd and so many members of our Black community and People of Color before him. Black lives matter to us and they should matter to you too – we condemn all acts of racism, discrimination and senseless acts of violence. We believe it is our diversity that gives us strength and World Projects will continue to support and recognize diversity, inclusion, and unique voices in our staff, guest faculty, participants, and operational partners.

Music, music education, and music travel all have the rare power to cross cultural divides and provide bridges for understanding and healing. At World Projects, we reassert our legacy to connect people of all races and backgrounds through the power of music and cultural exchange. In the coming weeks, months, and years, we have a duty to rebuild our neighborhoods and communities in a more just and equitable way. It is imperative that our citizens, organizations, policy makers and corporations recognize the importance of this opportunity. As a community, we must work together. Here is a LINK on ways to help – it was created after the 2014 events in Ferguson but still is very valid for our times.

World Projects continues to wish you all good health and safety during these turbulent times. As the school year comes to a close, World Projects would like to express our deepest appreciation to our community for their patience, understanding, and continued support as we all navigate the new world we find ourselves in. We are looking forward to traveling, experiencing music, and being together again when it is safe to do so!
